Serena Williams Couldn’t Vote Due to Religion
Wednesday Nov 5, 2008 – By The Edge

Yesterday, Serena Williams stated that even though she supports Barack Obama for President she could not vote for him due to her religion.
She said, “I don’t really get involved in political affairs because of the way I was brought up, and, being a Jehovah’s Witness, but it’s exciting to see someone like Barack Obama have a chance to lead one of the world’s biggest nations. It’s good. It makes my heart smile.”
Well, luckily it was a landslide and we didn’t need her vote to win and now Barack Obama is President of the United States of America!

You can’t really fault somebody who stands up for their religion.
Tens years from now she might regret that choice. But I respect her choices. Everybody flows a different way. I for one can’t even imagine knowing that I had the opportunity to participate in a part of history.
I agree with Get Togetha, that she may regret that ten years from now. My brother is a JW, and he didn’t vote either. The religion also discourages sex before marriage… I’m guessing people make exceptions? http://www.dyfuse.com/files/images/serena.williams.common.jpg
